Get Ready Cause Here We Come:
is your city on our tour?

Below is the mass email sent to friends, family, and the like in hopes that along the way open arms and open hearts might receive us for a night or two. If you're interested in housing or feeding two enthused candidates this fall and you live in or near the cities listed below, drop us a line and let us know!

Hello and hi there,  contacting ya'll this emotive occasion are two fine young ladies attempting to tap into the true faith we hold in humanity.  In a nutshell, here's the deal ya'll:
Sit quietly and envision idealism at its finest...

Interested in the upcoming presidential race as well as the collective consciousness of our country, the beautifully corrupted "Land of the Free, Home of Monopolies," we, Sara Sophia Lantto (taking my mother's maiden name for awhile, formerly Lowden) and Lanni Alecia Lantto, cousins and candidates in the 2004 race--you hear it first, we're running--are seeking philanthropic folks that might adopt us for an evening while passing through their town.  In just a couple weeks, we will be hitting the road, kicking off our campaign tour from Earthworks Harvest Fest in downstate Michigan.

From there, we will proceed to venture across the country, outlining the borders from the tippy top of the west coast, along through the south, up the east coast, and finally cutting across Canada to arrive back in Michigan.  We plan to hit 36 major cities along the way, listening to locals and contacting public communications and media outlets to discuss the current trends of this twisted and tattered "democracy."  We know we're certainly not alone in our frustrations, and would rather turn our anger into action, big or small.

Our slogan to the masses, "Why not run? We can't do any worse!"
Another fine sticker we'd love to see plastered on bumpers coast to coast, "Not just another campaign--A cultural revolution!"

Yes, of course, we are indeed a spoof--not even old enough to run. Myself, Sara, a recent, disillusioned University of Arizona dropout, and Lanni, a recent grad from University of Michigan, not only want to make people laugh a bit (a survival skill that must be employed when balancing the overwhelmingly devastating affairs of our planet), but hope to reinforce the importance of getting Bush out of office, if not with revolutionary tactics and force, at least through a vote (providing our votes are acknowledged, which, according to recent history, may be up in the air at this point).

Below is the list of cities we'll be eagerly passing through during our tour.  We would be forever grateful if you'd be willing to share your connections, introducing us to the kind people who might want to lend us a floor or backyard for an evening or, perhaps, just meet us for coffee to engage in quality conversation (and maybe a bit of street theater). Sadly, our budget is a mere fraction of a fraction of what Bush and Co. have available at their slimy fingertips.  This means we'll need to be mighty frugal, spending only when absolutely necessary.  We actually view this to be a wonderful way of networking; assured to meet more people, rather than boarding ourselves up in some stuffy motel for a night.

*Platform Propaganda Plug: It's back to basics politics, and unlike Bush who trots with the proletariat for a press photo, we are the proletariat, which is frighteningly close to becoming nearly an entirely separate species
than those in the current, dreaded administration, what with the burgeoning genetics frontier where plausibly in the near future genetically engineered embryos will be manipulated/purchased by the bourgeoisie, encoding a secret
recipe toward perceived perfection while those stuck in poverty are left picking up their laboratory wastes. As it is, we've got a leader who seems from another planet. Class war wages almost invisibly in our faces, let us not be silent observers of these ideological abstractions. We may
not be able to change the world in 2004, but at the very least let us use what little democratic rights we have left to get this guerrilla out of office!(Roar, Cheer, Raise a fist! Power to the People, right?!)
End Platform Propaganda Plug*

This campaign tour will be fueled by the kindness of others, bouncing off our kindness, bouncing off others' kindness...the circle of kindness, you know.
We look forward to your response. Viva La Resistance!
